How does The.Plaid work?

Infrared heat technology is used, more precisely FIR (Far Infra Red). This is a long-wave infrared that penetrates into the deeper layers of the body and thus warms from the inside out. Your body temperature rises and you feel wonderfully warm, while the air around you remains cold. The heating elements are distributed across the entire ceiling.

The heat given off by the heating elements reaches up to 65˚C. This has been tested extensively with heat meters. It takes about 10-15 minutes to reach this heat. The heat you experience at the highest setting is around 45˚C (around 8˚C warmer than your own body temperature) for 2 reasons;

• The initial heat release is reduced by the thickness of The.Plaid's fabric, so the heat you feel directly is less. However, the radiation is absorbed by the cells in the body, which safely increases body heat from within. Not only do you enjoy the effects of the radiation, but you also have a nice blanket with some “body” around you. This gives wonderful comfort.
• Unlike our The.Pillow heating pad, for example, The.Plaid lies looser around you and there is no "direct" contact with the heating elements. However, the health effects are the same. The same technology is used for both heating products.

However, the proven health benefits of infrared heating are undoubtedly there and, above all, it provides a wonderfully relaxing feeling.

Using it is easy. Thanks to the rechargeable battery, you can use the blanket completely wirelessly. It is attached to the inside of the ceiling via a cable with the heating elements. The temperature can be adjusted to 3 levels, so you can regulate your ideal temperature yourself. The first setting controls a temperature of 34˚C, the highest setting 42˚C. When fully charged, The.Plaid provides wonderful warmth for up to 6 hours. The battery is equipped with an input that can also be used to charge a phone.
