Daily care of your oiled furniture
To ensure a long service life for your oiled solid wood furniture, please follow the cleaning and care instructions in this manual. Keep these for future reference.
Non-sticky dirt, such as bread crumbs, can be easily removed with a dry or slightly damp dust cloth. Never use aggressive or abrasive cleaning agents, as these can permanently damage the wood.
As a general rule, all dirty liquids or food (e.g. jam, tomato sauce or coffee) should be wiped off immediately so that they do not get onto the wood.
Wipe yours with a clean, slightly damp cloth. You can add a small amount of soap, preferably black soap.
Care for your oiled furniture selectively or as required.
Also maintain your table once a year or as required. In a well-ventilated area, carefully scrub in the direction of the grain with the sanding sponge (or similar sponge) supplied with your furniture. Check the expiration date of the oil supplied and shake thoroughly before use. Apply the product in thin layers using the cloth provided. Do not leave the oil on the wood under any circumstances. Then wipe your table with a cloth (not a microfiber cloth).
CAUTION
Please note that the oil is highly flammable. Therefore, dry the cloth by spreading it out flat in the air (e.g. in a dry sink) before throwing it away. Do not crumple the cloth under any circumstances, as this could cause it to ignite. Avoid inhaling the vapors.
Please note that wood is a natural and living material - it therefore works with fluctuations in room temperature or humidity (preferably between 50 and 60 %).
A balanced room temperature and humidity are recommended both for solid wood furniture and for you. Please also note that discoloration of the wood due to sunlight is also unavoidable.
