The Mikado side table designed by Alain van Havre is a complete reinterpretation of his larger design and a study of balance and symmetry.
The Mikado side table shows how well thought out the design is actually. The diagonal lines, which are very similar to the party game Mikado, were brought back to perfect proportions during this design. The strong character of the wooden beam creates a beautiful composition with the smooth surface, which rightly makes the table a modern design.
The cosiness radiates from the Mikado through the robust oak without disturbing the clear lines of the sloping table top. The base of this pure design is made of solid oak and is attached under the table top, which is covered with a layer of oak veneer. A subtle flame structure is visible on the top of the table top.
