The Extremis Pantagruel Picnic Table attracts your loved ones outside into the countryside and brings them closer together. Eat, drink, relax, talk about an exciting day - now and in a few years, when the children are out of the house and come to visit you: The Pantagruel table will last for generations thanks to its reassuringly robust materials and doesn't have to hide when you want to have a party.
Its base is a frame made of hot-dip galvanized steel . This is the most sustainable of all treatments when it comes to protecting metal from rusting: Extremis immerses the steel in a zinc bath, giving it a particularly durable protective layer. In addition, you can configure the Pantagruel table shown here with a nicer, but more stain-prone powder coating.
Slats made of Iroko wood or lightwood are inserted into this frame with the greatest precision: This African hardwood is as noble as it is weather-resistant and comes from a transparent product chain that enables sustainable management.
The extreme or Extremis quality doesn't stop at the cushions that fit exactly to the distinctively shaped seats. They are made of Sunbrella® fabric , whose color is particularly resistant to harsh weather conditions and UV radiation. This is because color pigments are already embedded in the fibers before the yarn is spun. The covers can be removed and are machine washable at 30°C - but not suitable for the tumble dryer.
Last but not least, “Lazy Susan” – the practical rotating plate in the middle of the Pantagruel table – is also well protected: It is made of HPL or “High Pressure Laminate”. Their closed-pored surface offers another advantage: in most cases it is very easy to clean.
