BOOK MYKONOS MUSE
In the Cyclades, surrounded by the blue-green waters of the Aegean, lies the whitewashed, windmill-dotted Mykonos, the Island of the Winds. Mythified in antiquity as the bodies of gods, this ancient island and its surroundings are older than the legend itself and have played host to countless cultures for more than a millennium. With an area of forty square miles and a population of just ten thousand, the "Ibiza of Greece" has made a name for itself through its beautiful architecture, hospitable and open-minded locals, and fantastic beaches. With names like 'Paradise' and 'Super Paradise', the beaches of these coasts have captured the imagination and hearts of industry figures, artists and partygoers from around the world alike, making it a stable cosmopolitan destination and a standout hotspot on the jet-setting circuit.
This book traces and indulges the culture and society that has shaped Mykonos over the last century - from its days as a hideout for the likes of Le Corbusier and Antonis Benakis, to its time as a haven for the LGBTQ+ community, to its predominant party scene Readers along with the hidden ruins and myths on site.
