Børge Mogensen's 1958 BM0488 table bench is being reissued by Carl Hansen & Son as part of a growing collection of works by the renowned Danish architect and designer.

Versatile, timeless and carefully crafted, the BM0488 table bench was originally designed to complement the BM0865 daybed. The multifunctional piece of furniture is part of Mogensen's concept of "construction furniture" - durable furniture that can be supplemented and adapted over time to respond to changing needs and living situations. Suitable as a bench in the entrance area or at the end of the bed as well as a coffee table or side table, the independent piece of furniture exudes well-being wherever it is placed. BM0488 is crafted from solid oak, with the dense and flawless interior of the trunks, called the heartwood, skilfully shaped with traditional joinery joints and rounded edges repeated in the legs and moldings. Finished with a double braided finish, the durable and decorative design will look beautiful for generations.
